Steps To Take Screenshots

iPhone 8 or any earlier model

If you own an iPhone model with a home button, taking a screenshot is pretty easy for you. iPhone 8 and previous models allow you to take a screenshot by just clicking the Home button and the Power button together. Pres them simultaneously for two seconds and then let go. The iPhone will flash and also make a clicking noise if the sound is turned on, and the screenshot will be saved.

iPhone X or any later model

The latest iPhones does not have the Home button any longer, so the method has changed too. Now you have to press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously for a second. The iPhone will flash and make a buzzing sound, and the screenshot will be saved.

AssistiveTouch

There is not a shortcut provided by Apple to take screenshots. However, one can be added through AssistiveTouch. You have to:

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Locate General option and then Accessibility.
  3. Find AssistiveTouch and switch it On.
  4. A small circle will appear on your home screen.

The circle will contain several shortcuts; one of them will be for taking screenshots. The circle will initially be on the second page, but you can customize it under the Settings tab. Then whenever you have to take a screenshot, you just have to access the small circle and tap on the screenshot. And do not worry the screenshot will not capture the AssistiveTouch content.

Siri

Siri sadly is not programmed to take a screenshot. However, if you ask her, then she will tell you ways to capture one. We seriously hop[e that Apple will add such feature for Siri to use.

How to Edit Screenshots

iOS X and any earlier version

To edit your screenshots on iOS models 10 or earlier, you have to open the Apple photo app. Press on the thumbnail and the Edit button will appear. You can crop, mark, or adjust the pic as per your need. Tap Done when you are finished and save it. The editing option is intuitive and unique.

iOS 11 and any later version

A new screenshot interface is added by Apple in iOS 11 for the users, and it is fantastic. After a screenshot is taken, a small preview of it will show on the bottom left corner. You can swipe it away or wait for it to disappear. However, if you want to edit the screenshot, then you can just tap on the preview. Tapping on it will lead you directly to the editing interface. Here you can mark, crop, or share the pic if you want.
